KidsFest Fun
This past weekend we took Lucy to KidsFest and met up with the Fuch's family for what we thought would be a good time. I have to say KidsFest left much to be desired but the kids had fun (which I guess is just as important:) Lucy loved the "ChooChoo" and talked about it all afternoon. She also had her first pony ride and attacked the Berenstein Bears.

Like Father Like Daughter
I keep reminding Scott that we need to start watching what we are doing as Lucy is picking up on our habits, language, and behaviors. The other day Lucy discovered the peanut butter jar and insisted eating from it with a spoon. She refused to eat it in her chair at the table and kept pointing to "daddy's chair" where she followed in Scott's peanut butter loving footsteps...

We're Back...Plus 1
It's been a very busy past few months for us at the High household. Not trying to make excuses for not blogging but trying to make myself feel better for slacking on it. New house, holidays, and a new arrival...William Edward was born on February 23rd! So far, Lucy is enjoying being a big sister and is always worried about where "her baby" is. Here are a few pictures of our last few months.

Fourth of July
We headed north to Laona for the Fourth of July weekend to celebrate with family and enjoy the beautiful weather. We drove up Thursday night and Lucy only managed to SCREAM for the last 30 minutes! Needless to say we couldn't wait to arrive. Lucy enjoyed swimming in the lake, riding on the boats and watching her cousins tube and ski. She even tried tubing herself but was very neutral about the whole experience, so thankfully I only had to tube briefly. Over the weekend she learned to new words "boat" and "dog" and let us know repeatedly that she was interested in seeing these things. She loved playing with and tackling my aunt and uncle's dog Brooke so much so that when she was on the pier, her petting led to an unexpected fall into the lake. I jumped in and got her out quickly with very few tears...hopefully that's the last time that happens! We went to the parade, played on the beach and had lots of dance parties too! It was a fantastic weekend!

Lucy Joins the Band
On Saturday Lucy went to the St. Mary's festival with my parents while Scott and I went to dinner with friends. She loved watching all the people, the french fries and especially the band. Lucy, of course, was dancing like her usual self! The band thought she was so adorable that they invited her up on stage to perform. Lucy danced and played the tambourine. She loved the drums too. The only thing she didn't love was leaving the stage...we are in trouble!!!

Rocker Chick
Lucy loves guitars. She loves to listen to her Grandpa and her dad play and she dances the whole time. For her birthday her Aunt Kate and Mike bought her her first guitar and she absolutely loves it. She loves to play her guitar. Maybe we have a future rockstar!?!

Father's Day
Today was quite the eventful Father's Day filled with both good and bad events. Our day started off well with presents and hugs from Lucy to Scott...she got him a pair of binoculars he has been wanting for quite some time for who knows what since he is not the hunter or fisher type?!!? We were heading out to North Lake to my aunt and uncle's house, got the van all loaded and realized the keys were in the house...the car and house keys. This was not so good. After much hysterics by me and a pseudo-rescue by my brother Sam, Scott managed to take off a bedroom window, plummet head-first to the ground and rescue the forgotten keys. By the time we arrived at the party we were both laughing at the situation. I only wish I had captured the rescue on tape! The party was great and Lucy was very entertaining and full of kisses for everybody:)

Indoor Pool Fun
It is summer right??? The weather has been so unpredictable and I can't figure out why meteorologists even get paid as they are never right in their forecasting. We bought Lucy, got it all setup and ready to go for some sun but the weather hasn't been cooperating just yet. So Lu has been enjoying playing in her pool in the foyer...much to her dad's dissatisfaction at having a giant blow-up pool in the house.

Photo of the Day
Summer vacation has begun! I have a list of things I want to accomplish this summer and since I've been slacking on posting to our blog I decided to add blogging to my "to do" list. My goal is to post a photo of the day and am hoping that it doesn't follow the pattern of the "30 Day Shred" workout program I started and only accomplished the "2 Day Shred." For now I will stay optimistic...

These photos weren't exactly taken today but are cute so I thought this would be a good start!

Happy Birthday Lucy!
can't believe it has been one year since Little Lu arrived...this past weekend we celebrated Lucy's first birthday! Her party theme was "Caterpillar Garden Party." I spent many hours baking 6 cakes to put together a caterpillar cake (well really 8 but 2 didn't quite make it out successfully). My mom and I put the cake together and Scott did the decorating. I also made caterpillar decorations and an adorable barrette for Lucy to wear. She had a great time smashing her cake, playing with family, and opening all her presents. Happy Birthday Lucy!
