Happy Birthday Lucy!

can't believe it has been one year since Little Lu arrived...this past weekend we celebrated Lucy's first birthday! Her party theme was "Caterpillar Garden Party." I spent many hours baking 6 cakes to put together a caterpillar cake (well really 8 but 2 didn't quite make it out successfully). My mom and I put the cake together and Scott did the decorating. I also made caterpillar decorations and an adorable barrette for Lucy to wear. She had a great time smashing her cake, playing with family, and opening all her presents. Happy Birthday Lucy!

Future Dentist???

We are either raising a future dentist or will be visiting one frequently. Ever since Lucy got her first two teeth at 7 months, she has absolutely loved them (once they were in, not actually while they were coming in). With just 2 teeth Lucy discovered they were very useful for opening things such as "Puffs" containers and other snack containers. She is the hit of the playgroup when other parents put the tops on the snack containers and kids realize Lucy has this special talent! Lucy has since gotten 10 more teeth (7 more at once was a blast!) and has figured out other things her teeth are good for. She loves to pick things up with her teeth, tear things with her teeth, and bit her mama! I'm hoping she goes dentist profession route instead.

Lucy's Easter Dance

Lucy loves music...anything to do with music. Whenever she hears a song on the radio, commercial jingle, or a song song by one of us (off tune) she breaks out in dance. Lucy recently acquired a new dance move...

First Vacation

We just returned from our first "Family Vacation" with a little one of our own...and we survived and had a GREAT time! Lucy and I drove down to Hilton Head with my brother and parents and Scott flew down a few days later as he could only stay for part of the trip. The trip was supposed to be 17 hours but took us about 21 on the way down and 18 on the return trip home. Lucy did surprisingly well...much better than all of us anticipated. Sam didn't do too bad himself. Lucy is definitely a BEACH BABY she loved playing in the sand (and eating it too) and enjoyed the waves and the taste of the salt water. It was fun to bike around everywhere and to not have to strap Lu into the car all the time.

Here is a sneak peek of our trip...more fun pics to follow.
